How long does it last?
Results can vary based on hair texture and condition, but repeat clients have the treatment done every 3 months on average.
It is also important to follow aftercare instructions to prolong the life of your treatment. Brazilian Blowout Acai Aftercare products are formulated with the same hydrolized keratin and botanical extracts as the treatment, so every time you use them you are refreshing it. Repeating the treatment before it reverts completely will also increase longevity with each service. Your wave will return before your frizz, providing an easy transition should you choose to go back to natural!
How straight will it be?
Brazilian Blowout is not a “straightener,” but it does reduce curl by 60-90%, depending on hair texture and condition. Fluffy, frizzy, wavy hair will become smooth and straight but with a natural look; curly hair will be relaxed to a flatter wave and very curly hair will drop to a softer ringlet. The hair may have a softer, flatter, frizz-free wave (think beachy-sexy), but not be bone-straight when air dried. Blow-out time and effort will be reduced to just a few minutes for a smooth, shiny finish that maintains healthy, natural body and bend; you can put your flat-iron into storage!
Is it safe for colored or highlighted hair?
Absolutely! In fact, porous hair absorbs more product and holds onto it longer. Color should be done before your treatment, or more than 2 weeks after it. The treatment also locks in your color, so you’ll have less fading in between color appointments.
How much does it cost, and how long does it take?
On average, it takes about two hours and costs $150.
Is Brazilian Blowout safe while pregnant or nursing?
Testing has not been done on this, so Brazilian Blowout suggests waiting until you are done nursing before having the treatment done.
Is it true that I can’t wash my hair for 3 days afterwards?
NO! Brazilian Blowout is the ONLY treatment on the market which is completely finished when you leave the salon; no waiting period before washing, no rules about ponytails and clips.
Is Brazilian Blowout all-natural?
Some stylists would have you believe these treatments are chemical-free and all-natural. Let’s face it: if they were made of rainbows and butterflies, they wouldn’t last beyond a few shampoos. However, the chemicals are gentle and semi-permanent because they lay on the outside of the hair instead of penetrating and changing its structure.
What’s this I’ve read about formaldehyde?
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding this topic. Read Brazilian Blowout’s Official Statement here.
How does Brazilian Blowout work? Is it damaging?
The Brazilian Blowout treatment fills in dry, cracked cuticles with keratin (the protein your hair is made of), while botanical extracts moisturize and soften the newly smooth cuticle. The result: hair that is healthier, stronger, shinier and straighter than before--and virtually frizz-free!
Will I be able to curl my hair if I want to?
Absolutely! The hair won’t be stiff-straight like with permanent straighteners. You can use a round brush for bounce and flips, or curling irons/hot rollers for more major styling. Best of all...your styles will be immune to humidity!
What if I just want to try it, then go back to natural?
After only one Brazilian Blowout, your hair will slowly but surely return to its natural state. This may take anywhere from 12-20 weeks, depending on many factors, and the hair will still be stronger than it ever was before! After receiving multiple treatments, the cumulative effect may cause the fade back to natural to be a longer, slower process.
